Here at South Jordan Chiropractic, we are proud to offer our advanced laser technology to aid in a faster recovery process. Laser technology works by penetrating the cells and stimulating the organelle known as the Mitochondria to produce extra ATP, the fuel used by the cell to perform it’s daily functions of healing, excreting waste, primary cellular functions, etc. We offer two types of lasers to our patients, Class II (know as a cold laser) and Class IV (known as a hot laser).
Our cool laser penetrates about 1 and a 1/2 inches deep and has a cascading effect deeper to help tissues heal on a cellular level, 4 to 5 times faster. On the other hand, our hot laser gets warm and must be continually moving as performed by a doctor or office team member. Hot lasers penetrate 4 inches deep into the tissues to promote cellular healing. Both types of laser have amazing healing properties with no negative side effects. The only contraindication is that Class IV (hot laser) can not be used on the brain, eyes or genitalia.
An interesting comparison to help explain the advanced technology and healing properties of laser therapy is that a bone, if broken, takes 8 to 9 weeks to heal. With laser light being applied daily, the bone should be completely healed in 2-3 weeks.
